Fast Mode Details
Alibaba's Qoder coding assistant has introduced a Fast mode targeting developers who need quicker turnaround on routine coding tasks. The new mode cuts first-response latency from 8 seconds under the previous Performance tier to 3 seconds, which Alibaba says is less than one-third the response time of its Auto mode and roughly one-quarter that of the international edition's Ultimate mode.
The efficiency gain extends to cost: credit consumption falls from 1.1x to 0.8x, representing approximately a 27% reduction. Alibaba said other products in the Qoder family will gain access to Fast mode in the near term.
Availability and Competitive Positioning
Fast mode is available on desktop client version 0.4.4 and above across personal, enterprise, CN and international editions. The CN edition adds Fast as a new selectable tier, while the international edition automatically upgrades existing Performance-mode users without requiring any action.
In internal testing across 10 common developer tasks, Alibaba benchmarked Qoder Fast against both domestic and international competitors' fast modes, claiming completion times of roughly one-third those of Chinese rivals and one-quarter those of overseas alternatives. These are vendor-reported figures and have not been independently verified.
