Lenovo named in AI factory ecosystem

Lenovo Group is among 17 technology companies serving as ecosystem partners for Nvidia’s DSX POD AI factory reference design, National Business Daily reported on October 22. The Chinese newspaper also named Dell and HPE among the participants.

The report covered Jensen Huang’s keynote at Nvidia’s GTC event in Berlin on October 21. It described DSX POD as a complete AI factory reference design built around the Vera Rubin system.

Deployment claims come from Nvidia

According to Huang’s presentation as reported by NBD, the design connects to power, cooling, networking and other infrastructure at prepared sites. He said it could cut deployment time from six months to 14 days.

NBD reported that the Vera Rubin system uses liquid cooling and connects 72 GPUs within a rack. Huang also said closed-loop liquid cooling and dry coolers could reduce facility cooling water use to nearly zero. These deployment and efficiency figures were Nvidia’s claims in the presentation.
