Nubia launches NaviX Ultra with Doubao's phone assistant

An assistant placed inside the phone workflow

Nubia launched NaviX Ultra with the consumer version of Doubao Phone Assistant, according to TechNode's account of the ZTE announcement. The 12GB-memory, 512GB-storage version costs RMB5,999 before subsidies. The reported subsidized starting price is RMB5,499; eligibility should not be assumed for every buyer.

The other announced configurations are 16GB/512GB at RMB6,499 and 16GB/1TB at RMB7,499. The device uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform and includes a dedicated AI key with fingerprint authentication.

The feature claim is action across apps

Nubia describes the assistant as capable of interpreting complex instructions, planning steps, executing tasks across applications and correcting errors while retaining task context. That is a manufacturer description, not a result from an independent test of the phone.

What a useful hands-on evaluation would establish

The practical test is whether the assistant can finish a specific task while showing what it did and requesting approval at consequential steps. Repeatability matters more than one successful demonstration. Failed logins, app updates and interrupted connections should be part of that evaluation.

The report does not establish overseas availability, supported languages, an application compatibility list or the division between local and cloud processing. Those omissions matter to readers outside China. The announced Chinese prices and integrated assistant make the launch concrete, but they do not yet show that the same experience is available on an international handset or account.
