THE ESSENTIALS
  • Dongfeng says a series of new products using its next driving-assistance system will reach the market in 2027.

A new system timetable

Dongfeng Motor is building a new generation of its own combined driving-assistance system around a centrally concentrated SOA electrical and electronic architecture, according to an October 22 Xinhua report from the World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference in Beijing. General manager Feng Changjun said the system uses a single-stage end-to-end large model with reinforcement learning. A series of new products is planned for 2027.

The conference runs October 21–23. Feng presented the company's approach to moving from intelligent vehicles toward vehicles as carriers of artificial intelligence. His remarks describe Dongfeng's development plans; the report does not provide independent performance tests of the planned system.

Data and factory applications

The report also describes Dongfeng's release of 1.25 million sets of end-to-end autonomous-driving data for industry-wide open use. It says the company has put more than 500 AI application scenarios into use and brought more than 1,500 AI agents online, with its Taiji large model serving as an enterprise intelligence core.

Dongfeng also displayed its new driving-assistance system and vehicle-road-cloud technologies at the conference. These disclosures present the manufacturer's own account of its technology rollout.
