THE ESSENTIALS
  • The announced rollout is scheduled for November 24, rather than already available.
  • The report describes AI reconstruction of lighting and materials, with current RTX 50-series support.

A dated rollout

NetEase's open-world martial-arts game Where Winds Meet plans to introduce Nvidia DLSS 5 on November 24, IT Home reported on November 4, citing the game's official announcement. North American availability is scheduled a day earlier, on November 23. The dates describe a planned update, rather than a feature already delivered to players.

Neural rendering and limits

According to the report, DLSS 5 uses each frame's color and motion vectors as inputs to an AI model that generates lighting and materials aligned with the underlying 3D content. The game's integration uses a 3D-guided neural-rendering approach, retaining engine-rendered frames as its foundation while reconstructing more complex visual details.

The game's team says the release has undergone multiple rounds of Nvidia tuning to balance image quality and frame rates. Those are attributed developer claims; this report has not independently benchmarked the forthcoming build. IT Home also notes that DLSS 5 currently works only on RTX 50-series graphics cards, while Nvidia has previously promised RTX 40-series support. The announced update therefore does not establish availability across all existing Nvidia hardware.
